Downtime: I Am Annoyed About the Number 89

Downtime!
Assumptions:
- No detours on the way back "home"
- None of the group is murderated by anyone
Notes:
- Stygge has been offered the same mission if she joins the gang, with the same payout (i.e. increase the joint fee proportionally)
- Post downtime activities and associated rolls here! Let me know if you have questions in Discord or post them in this topic. I will respond ASAP.
- Weather is going to turn into a special kind of Seattle shitty by the next run. Any PC with any sort of Seattle based local knowledge skill will know that Seattlites can't drive worth shit in the snow. Even 10cm will shut down the city. When we get the warm snow plus freezing rain, it's awful [to the locals, not to people from Manitoba].
Karma:
Shrike, Wraith, Mulpa, Bushwack: 3
Tulpa, Macfear: 2
Stygge: 1

"Okay, everybody who is getting in on this op, we need to meet to discuss legwork and planning. If anybody has a place suitable for a meeting they are willing to share, speak up and we can get started."

MacFear nods his assent, "Seems like a good side gig. I have obligations, so please work out dates and times in advance where possible. I understand that's not always a luxury in this field but do what you can. Feel free to ask any questions you may have for the new guy here. I really am a lawyer. I grew up on the streets, so I know how to hold my own even if I'm not a trained combatant. If you need someone to grease the wheels, though, I can do that with the best of them. It's what pays my bills."

"I am thinking that if we can get Tulpa before he sinks into his drugs again, he can get me an identity in the building's security system so I can go inside and scout the place out for the actual run. If we exfiltrate the target too early, they will be ready and prepared for the run at the hanger."

"Those wannabee elves at the compound and that ork outside the bar didnt really make me sweat. I got a fight coming up in couple of weeks and I need to stay sharp, I'm gonna pound some boxing bags a the dojo during the time off."
"You got a side gig that could use a menacing looking trog to dissuade people or you want a plan B, I can help out. I will give you the team rate discount, meaning I do it for free and you owe me a small favour if its low risk low pay if its something riskier we can talk. I' can help you with the scouting as well of course."

"Looks like I was a little to slow to ask Tulpa and he is already into his drugs. If we can come up with anything I can help with... without Tulpa setting it up... I will do it. Otherwise I will need to patrol the streets near where I live to keep the young hoodlums cautious enough to behave themselves well enough. When the Vory offer protection, we also protect from external threats."

Maybe we can find someone to fill in for him? Even if none of you know anyone like him, maybe one of us will know a guy who turns out to know a guy.

by Wraith
Location: Various, all within Seattle
Condition: Overall fine
Wraith returned to her home fairly quickly after the group parted ways from the garage, stopping by a restaurant at semi-random for take-away; during her trip she contacts Riley to apologize for her lateness, that something very unexpected came up that delayed her - the foxelf is reasonably certain that her friend will be understanding, even frazzled as she was.
(OOC: I'll skip over the details of all that here and spare you all, but maybe post it in a 'reply' to my character sheet, so its at least documented)
Later...
Shrike wrote:"Okay, everybody who is getting in on this op, we need to meet to discuss legwork and planning. If anybody has a place suitable for a meeting they are willing to share, speak up and we can get started."
>><Gomenasai>, I do not Shrike.<< comes Wraith's eventual reply to the teams text communication channel, an hour or two later.
>>I will monitor both channels for a time and location - if it happens that I am involved with other responsibilities when the meet occurs, I will keep in contact via voice.<<
When Mulpa's comments come up, particularly the second one regarding an identity card, Wraith sends the dwarf a DM.
>>I might be able to help there via a fixer I know. Given your affiliations, you might be required to decline which I would understand.<<
Once that message has been sent, Wraith sends off a text-based message to the aforementioned contact (which I will DM to our most excellent gamemaster).
With a little less than three days of downtime, Wraith takes the opportunity to relax and spend more time with the few friends she has, Riley in particular; despite the rain and cold temperatures the two enjoy a day out, hitting up some of the sights of Downtown (and allowing Wraith a brief meeting with her fixer contact).
(OOC: More to come later!)

Sounds like you'll have better luck than me. I gotta go run some errands anyway.
After sending that message, Stygge drives to Renton where she offers to help out her favourite used car salesman King. While she does have some experience dealing with customers, her skills are better put to use fixing up some of the vehicles on the lot. No major repairs - she'd have to take the vehicle back to her doss for that - but enough to improve the vehicles' value. For example, that beat-up Honda Spirit is probably worth about 6000 nuyen so King could probably sell it for 7500, but with Stygge making a few little repairs here and there, 8000 or even 9000 wouldn't be out of the question.
And what does the elf rigger get for her troubles? That can always be negotiated later.
